Biography


Oluwatoyin Sanni (born on September 10 1965) A Lawyer, Chartered Secretary, Stockbroker, and Author with over thirty years’ experience in Corporate Finance, Law and Investor Services.  She is currently the Group CEO of Emerging Africa Capital Group, an African provider of integrated financial services covering Advisory and Capital Raising, Trusts, Wealth Management and Investment Facilitation. Prior to that she was Group Chief Executive Officer at United Capital Plc, a leading African investment banking and financial services Group providing capital financing solutions to African governments, companies, and individuals. She was once recognized in 2017 as the All African Business Woman of the Year at the AABLA Awards, Johannesburg, South Africa and in Nigeria as the Most Outstanding CEO of the yearby the Pearl Awards Board, becoming the first female CEO to win that award in its 22 years history. Her company also won the Overall best company award and an unprecedented feat of sweeping five (5) Pearl Awards in one year.

Oluwatoyin was born in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria, in 1965. She hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State. Toyin achieved her first Degree from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, and also holds a Masters Degree, LLM (Hons), from the University of Lagos. She holds Professional qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (I.C.S.A.) UK, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (C.I.S.) Nigeria. She has also participated in training programs including the Harvard Business School Disruptive Innovation Executive Education program, Global Strategic Leadership at the Wharton Business School, Investment Banking and Project Finance courses of the Euromoney Group, Portfolio Management Academy at the New York Institute of Finance, and the Peter Drucker Management Program at Robert Kennedy College, Switzerland

Oluwatoyin Sanni, Group Chief Executive Officer, United Capital Plc

Oluwatoyin Sanni is the Group CEO of United Capital Plc, a leading African investment banking group providing capital and financing solutions to African governments, companies, and individuals. The Group comprises of the following business divisions: Investment Banking, Asset Management, Securities Trading, and Trustee Services.Toyin is the Chairperson of Women in Finance Nigeria (WIFng), a networking, advocacy and development platform for women in the Nigerian financial sector; and in finance roles in all sectors.

Prior to her appointment as the Group CEO of United Capital, Toyin Sanni was CEO,United Capital Trustees Limited (formerly known as UBA Trustees Limited). Her career accomplishments, past and present, include establishment of UBA Global Investor Services, President Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers, Chairperson, Technical Committee on Financial Literacy, President, Association of Corporate Trustees, Council Member, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Nigeria, Associate of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria, Member, National Bond Steering Committee, Member, West African Capital Markets Integration Technical Committee and Chairperson, Custody Sub-Committee of the Capital Market. She also held the position of Chairperson of the Nigerian Capital Market Annual Retreat Committee for 2012, 2013 and 2014.

She is the author of ‘Yes You Too Can’ and ‘Get to the Top’, inspirational books aimed at empowering the next generation of women leaders.

Toyin recently won the CNBC Africa All African Business Woman of the year 2017 and Nigeria’s CEO of the Year 2017 by Pearl Awards – the first time a woman will win the award in the Award’s 22-year history.
